Melissa Garton raised over $1,300 for Chatham-Kent Hospice by donating her ponytail and cutting her hair down to 1″ overall in memory of her friend Katherine Voets-Keating.
Katherine passed away May 20, 2005 from breast cancer. She was only 36 years old and left behind a husband and 3 young children as well as many other family and friends.
She was able to die at home surrounded by her loved ones.
To mark the 10th anniversary of Katherine’s passing and to help others who may not be able to die at home, Melissa has chosen to raise money for Chatham-Kent Hospice and cut her shoulder-length hair off.
Melissa has chosen to support the Chatham-Kent Hospice Hope Chest Campaign to purchase of the following items:
Toaster Oven Mini-Fridge DVD Player (2) Bedding (2) Towel Set (2) Kettle Teapot Dishware
THANK YOU Melissa!
