Hike for Hospice CK

Thanks to the dedication of hikers and donors, Hike for Hospice reached new heights to set a fundraising record for the event. With more than 500 participants at this year's Hike, Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation is pleased to report that we've surpassed this year's fundraising goal of $140,000 to raise more than $167,500 to support end-of-life care in our community! Being an event fueled by pledges, the success of this year's Hike is owed to you and we cannot thank you enough!

Each and every donation helps Hospice to provide meals for residents and snacks for visitors, while also covering the cost of utilities. The donations you collected will go a long way to helping families that will use Hospice services this year. Thank you!

Corporate Challenge 2024

Twenty local businesses faced off to fundraise in this year's Hike for Hospice Corporate Challenge, but only one goes home with the coveted Hike for Hospice trophy!

Congratulations to Martinrea Metallics Ridgetown for raising more than $7,000 as a team or $717 per team member! To help them celebrate, team members will be heading to Cora's Breakfast and Lunch in Chatham to enjoy a complimentary breakfast or lunch thanks to Cora's!

Honourable mention goes to Kent & Essex Mutual Krusaders, Huron Construction, McNaughton Pharmacy Wellness Team, and Lally Chevrolet! Thanks to everyone who participated this year!

FAQs

Hike for Hospice takes place along Mud Creek Trail. To start the Hike, we gather behind John McGregor Secondary School (300 Cecile Street, Chatham). For the safety of all participants Cecile Street will be closed from the intersection of Faubert to the school parking lot. You can enter the school parking lot off of Indian Creek Road West. Limited parking will be available at John McGregor Secondary School.

Additional parking is available at Community of Christ Church on Faubert Drive and First Reformed Church on Lacroix. There is also limited street parking along Faubert Drive and Cecile Avenue.

Early Bird Check-In occurs on April 23, 24, and 25 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at St. Andrew's Residence (99 Park St., Chatham). Please park in the Hospice lot and follow the Hike signs to the back entrance of St. Andrew's Residence. Early Bird Check-in is an opportunity to bring cash or cheque donations and pledges, as well as pick up your previously purchased Hike T-Shirt or sunglasses.

If you submit all donations at the Early Bird Check-In, you do not need to check-in on the day of Hike and can arrive at 1:30-1:45 (unless you want to enjoy the pre-hike activities!).

The Pre-Hike Family Fun Zone, sponsored by Kent & Essex Mutual Insurance, will feature a range of activities for the entire family to enjoy! Pre-hike starts at 12:00 Noon and runs until about 1:30 when we'll start the opening ceremony for Hike.

We're encouraging everyone to pack a picnic and enjoy the Pre-Hike atmosphere. Activities include: Live Music, CK Play Rangers, Chalk Art, Memorial Activities, Rock Painting, Colouring by Cora's, and a Kent & Essex Mutual Insurance tent with swag!
